Garden Loops - Foraging and Fermentation
Galthielmska Huset, Gothenburg
2022

Garden Loops is a collective formed together with Mercé Torres and Aida Urmevi. Mercè is an artist who explores topics such as rural communities, culture, and the relationship to place through food and Aida is a self-taught cook with an interest in history, anthropology and community based food systems.

Together we explore the transgressive power of slow food in relation to time, place and community. Believing that by submitting to the seasons, and the slowness of growing, harvesting, foraging, preserving, and preparing your own food, - there is more to be gained than a smaller carbon footprint and more delicious food (although that is very important).

Garden Loops is a seasonal recurring event, engaging with the public, creating a community around food, place and seasons. By moving away the alienation that is the globalized food system, new connections to place and community can be made.

The projects has so far taken form in one workshop, held at Galthielmska huset on the 27th of August 2022, and one fanzine exploring foraging and fermenting.
